Is the free plan really free?

Yes. You can build a private family tree, add unlimited people and photos, and view and listen to everything for as long as you like, without ever paying. Family is only needed when you want to share your tree with relatives or record voice memories every month.

If I stop paying, do I lose my memories?

Never. Anything you've recorded or been shared into stays yours to listen to and export, always — even after a subscription ends. Ending Family only pauses your ability to create new shares and recordings beyond the free amount; it never takes away what's already there.

Does my whole family have to pay?

No. Relatives you invite to view the tree and listen to memories are always free. One Family subscription covers you and a co-editor building the tree together; anyone who just wants to look and listen never needs to pay.

How does the free trial work?

Family comes with a 14-day free trial that unlocks everything. If you decide it's not for you, you simply return to the Free plan when the trial ends — you're not automatically locked out, and nothing you made during the trial disappears.

Can I cancel or switch plans any time?

Yes. You can cancel from your account whenever you like, with no penalty, and move between monthly and yearly billing at any time. Yearly saves you about a third compared with paying monthly.
